mid-Century Sherman crystal clip earrings

Probably dating from the early 1950s, these stunning statement clip earrings were designed and made by the highly-respected Sherman Costume Jewelry company, founded by Gustave Sherman in Montreal in 1947.

They feature sparkling navette and elongated marquis shaped crystals, much favoured by Gustave Sherman because they could be arranged into elegant flowing designs. The crystals are individually claw set in a beautiful multi-layered, three-dimensional foliate design.

Signed on the reverse of the rhodium plated settings, these earrings are in excellent vintage condition. They are approximately 3.5 cm long by 2.5 cm wide.
