Victorian decorative metal studs box

Originally designed to keep shirt and collar studs in a safe place, this Victorian studs box is equally useful today for tidying and organising several pairs of cufflinks. Is it made of chromium plated metal, probably brass, and is elegantly decorated with a sculptured frieze and topped with a single stud. Its plush blue velvet lining is still in tact which is quite unusual for box that is over 100 years old.

Gentle wear of the chromium plating over the decades has given this piece a wonderfully aged and vintage feel. It measures 6.6 cm in diameter and is 3.4 cm high.
