Fabulous Bauhaus-inspired Art Deco enamel cufflinks

This is a fabulous and unusual pair of Art Deco cufflinks almost certainly inspired by the Bauhaus movement of the early 20th century. The round faces are filled with red, green, black, blue and white enamel in a dazzling abstract design that is sure to be noticed. We believe they are French in origin.

The faces measure 14 mm across and connect with a longer three-link chain. They are in good vintage condition with only minor signs of wear.

The Bauhaus was a German art school founded by architect Walter Gropius in Weimar and operational from 1919 to 1933. It combined crafts and fine arts, and became famous for its approach to design which attempted to unify individual artistic vision with the principles of mass product and emphasis on function.
