1920s silver and marcasite rose brooch
This brooch is a superb example of early marcasite jewellery and dates from around the 1920/30s.
The intricate rose shape with overlapping petals and leaves has been expertly fashioned in solid silver and is stamped on the reverse. Its entire surface is covered with glittering tiny marcasites, all hand-set into the silver and a testament to the quality of this piece. Their sparkle is unparalleled and really sets this brooch apart from more modern marcasite pieces.
The brooch has its original safety chain (7cm long), a pin and rollover closure, and is approximately 6 cm high.
