Dramatic blue crystal Judy Lee brooch

This dramatic and intricate brooch from the 1960s features a sparkling flower of blue crystal navette petals at its centre fanned around a large baroque pearl. Radiating out from this are sprays of claw set pale and mid blue rhinestones and dainty silvertone tone flowers with creamy baroque pearl centres.

The reverse reveals that the brooch is branded Judy Lee and is constructed with a technique called swedging with a silvertone filigree backing and numerous rivets. It has a rollover  clasp and measures an impressive 11 cm x 6 cm – a truly eye-catching brooch.

Judy Lee Jewels was a brand name used by Blanch-ette Inc founded in Chicago in 1949. Their jewellery was sold through home parties from the 1950s to late 1970s. Many designs are sought after by collectors today.
