Edwardian black slate cufflinks with silver inlay

This intriguing pair of cufflinks have an eye-catching design that sets them apart from more conventional accessories. They almost certainly date from the Edwardian era and are made of polished black slate inlaid with a scrolling, foliate pattern in silver.

The round faces are connected to the oval retainers with a single chain link, typical of the era. The rounds measure 17 mm across and the retainers are 21 mm long.
