Edwardian glass ball waistcoat button set
This is a collectable set of six eye-catching glass ball waistcoat buttons dating from the late Victorian/Edwardian era when the popularity of this design peaked.
The diminutive spheres are made of black and red glass with gold adventurine swirls highlighting the red patches. The spheres measure roughly 12 mm across and have a long brass shank. They fix through the buttonhole with the little split pins. They are presented in a textured card box from the same era.
Originally designed for men’s vests and waistcoats, these unusual buttons would be just at home as studs on a formal dress shirt or as decorative buttons for a lady’s shirt or cocktail dress.
