Edwardian silver and yellow guilloché enamel cufflinks

These early 1900s Edwardian cufflinks are in fine vintage condition. The silver faces are filled with maize yellow guilloché enamel with an inset band of silver and measure 18 mm x 11 m. They are stamped silver on the reverse and are joined with a single twist connector.

Guilloché is a decorative technique in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive pattern is mechanically engraved into an underlying material via engine turning. This can then be filled with translucent enamel, or powdered glass, to give a layer of colour over the detailed engraving.
