Edwardian waistcoat button set

This is a gorgeous set of Edwardian waistcoat buttons in their original case. The round gilt buttons feature a Mother of Pearl disc set into a frame of dark green enamel with gilt detailing. They are secured in place by the split rings which attach behind the garment’s button holes. Each button measures 14 mm across.

The original green leather case is decorated with gold detail and has a push clasp closure. The lid is lined with cream satin whilst the buttons and rings sit in a padded velvet cushion. The case measures 78 mm across.

Although originally used as waistcoat or dress buttons, this set is equally relevant today as studs for a formal evening shirt or as decorative buttons for a ladies shirt or cocktail dress.
