‘Millicent’ Edwardian crystal hair pin

Millicent is a beautiful and evocative hair pin created with an Edwardian rhinestone jewel from the early 1900s set onto a French faux tortoiseshell celluloid hair pin dating from the 1940s.

At the centre of the Edwardian jewel is a mesmerising faceted rhinestone that is a stunning 1.5 cm across and has a deep multiple claw setting. It is surrounded by a swirling filigree frame of antiqued silver metal with individually claw-set round faceted rhinestones. The clarity and sparkle in all of the crystals is superb for a piece that is over 100 years old.

The Edwardian jewel measures 6 cm x 3.5 cm and the celluloid comb is just under 9 cm long.
