Vintage textured leaves gold choker by Trifari

This simple and stylish choker by Trifari featured in fashion magazine advertisements in 1966 along with bracelets of a similar design. It forms an elegant garland of textured leaves and is made from gleaming golden-toned ‘Trifanium’.

This choker has two clasps, each with the Crown Trifari mark, so that the length can be varied a little. It measures 40 cm long and 1.5 cm wide and is in excellent condition with no signs of wear.

‘Trifanium’ is the name for a special alloyed casting metal used by Trifari to create the elements for their jewellery. These casting were then filed, polished and plated with Trifari’s own plating solutions for both gold and rhodium colours. The gold plating solution contained real gold and was applied much more generously than industry standards.

Trifari’s 1966 advertisement carried the text: “The flexible bracelet has long been a great tradition. Now Trifari’s made it high fashion! These superb bracelets curve around your wrist with a lovely nonchalant ease. You’d expect to find such suppleness only in precious jewelry. But Trifari craftsmen have mastered the art, working with skill and patience in gleaming golden-toned Trifanium. They look real, yet they have a special flair that’s pure Trifari.”
