Art Deco simulated red agate necklace with carved galalith

This is a wonderful Art Deco era necklace attributed to the acclaimed French jewellery designer Louis Rousselet. Although around 100 years old it has the most amazing contemporary vibe.

The graduated round glass beads were hand made to resemble natural red agate, with subtle shading and swirls in the glass. These are interspersed with carved round brick-orange galalith beads and carved galalith “trumpet flowers” in a wonderful shade of mustard brown. Reddish pink glass rondels separate the glass beads and perfectly complement the necklace’s symphony of autumnal hues.

The beads are threaded onto a woven chain and close with Rousselet’s signature brass beehive screw clasp stamped “Made in France”. The necklace is 42 cm long.
