Blue Art Nouveau cufflinks with retractable chain

This is a pair of 1930s/40s ‘Imitation’ retractable chain cufflinks in nice vintage condition. The faces are decorated in Art Nouveau style with mid blue enamel while the retainers that house the coiled chains the have an etched basket-weave pattern. The faces measure 19 mm x 9 mm.

The retainers are stamped Imitation Pat 449790, a patent registered by Jarrett, Rainsford & Laughton Ltd in 1935 to protect the expansible chain mechanism for their Stratton cufflinks.
