Emerald and topaz vintage brooch by Beau Jewels
This bright and bold crystal brooch showcases all the typical Beau Jewels design and construction features and is in excellent vintage condition. It dates from the 1950s or 1960s.
A gorgeous floral centrepiece is surrounded by smaller flower figural designs and crystal rhinestone leaves. The large golden topaz and emerald green navettes are accented by moulded amethyst leaves and bright hyacinth crystals. The aurora borealis petals, and the bold pitted centres of the smaller flowers, flash with hints of pink, green and gold.
The brooch measures 8 cm by 5 cm with a goldtone riveted setting and rollover clasp. Although not individually marked Beau Jewels on the reverse, it was part of a set with earrings that were signed.
Beau Jewels was an American costume jewellery company founded in New York in 1948. They earned a reputation for their beautiful flower and leaf jewellery with brightly coloured crystals. Many pieces were produced in sets comprising necklace, brooch and earrings. Beau Jewels jewellery was last produced in 1979 and is therefore becoming harder to find and more collectable.
