Stratton 1950s blue enamel cufflinks

This is a very smart pair of fine quality mid-Century cufflinks with a striking design to complement every attire from a casual denim or linen shirt to formal evening wear.

Each oblong face features a geometric pattern of turquoise, pale blue and mid blue enamel in a gold gilt setting. They measure 15 mm x 10 mm and connect with a generous four-link chain.

These cufflinks were made by British company Laughton & Sons Ltd, founded in 1860 and quickly earning a reputation for high quality ladies’ compacts. During WWII their Birmingham-based factories were bombed, forcing the company to concentrate on making war supplies. The postwar-1950s were Stratton’s peak years. They introduced new products including cufflinks and tie pins for men, part of their extensive range of highly collectable accessories sold under the Stratton brand name. The company closed in 1997.
