DRGM early 20th Century whaleback cufflinks
The round faces of these unusual early 20th Century cufflinks are filled with dark ivory carved lucite with a guilloché effect red lucite centre with ivory detail. They have a whaleback connector and simple bullet retainer. The faces measure 15 mm across and are stamped DRGM on the reverse.
DRGM is an abbreviation for Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster and enabled the design and/or function of an item to be officially registered inside all German states rather than just locally. DRGM registration was introduced in 1891 and continued to be utilized up until 1949.
