Glamorous multi strand amethyst crystal vintage necklace

This rather majestic vintage necklace dates from around the 1960s and is a wonderful example of mid-century glamour. It is in beautiful vintage condition.

It comprises four rows of graduated and faceted dark amethyst paste stones all claw set in silver tone metal. Each setting is articulated so that the necklace sits beautifully. A J-hook closure, typical of the era, fixes into one of 5 rings on a dangling chain with individual purple crystals. This enables the necklace to be worn at different lengths from 14 inches up to 16 ¼ inches long.
