'Henrietta' early 20th Century crystal tiaraThis is an exquisite crystal tiara that dates, we believe, from the early 20th Century. It was discovered at a Brocante at Chateau Chambord in the Loire Valley.
The beautifully faceted crystals are individually claw set into the antiqued silvertone frame and have an intense sparkle seldom found in modern costume jewellery. The design was most likely influenced by traditional French court tiaras, but also reflects the festoon tiara style that became highly fashionable in the early 1900s.
'Henrietta' is 34mm high in the centre and the crystal decorated part of the band is approximately 25cm. It is currently secured with an elasticated tie but this can easily be replaced with narrow ribbon. The tiara can also be secured without a tie or ribbon using the fixing loops at each end.
