1950s milk glass white floral earrings

Sculptured glass petals and leaves combine with twinkling faceted crystals to give these clip-on earrings an abundance of charm.

The petals and beads are made of milk glass, an opaque white glass originally made in Venice and Florence in the 1500s to simulate porcelain and popular in both the Victorian era and 1950s. The sinuous flower is embellished with tiny flowers of beads and rhinestones joined together with delicate goldtone wire.

The earrings measure just over 2.5 cm across and are stamped Made in Western Germany on the reverse, which dates them to the 1950s.
